Dinner with Designer Dedicated to Women Over Fifty - Wendy, Fashion Over Fifty

Note from Pauline Durban, Founder and President of cabotparticlematters - I love Wendy, from Fashion Over Fifty, she's feisty, down to earth and tells it like it is. She looks adorable in the Peek-a-Boo top, just like I knew she would. We had a tasty and fun dinner. Not sure why I'm in two of the pictures :-)

Over to Wendy...

On Thursday night I had the most delightful dinner with an amazing woman who has dedicated her clothing designs specifically for the woman Over Forty, Fifty, and beyond.

Her name is Pauline Durban and she launched cabotparticlematters in 2013 when struggling to find clothes following her bout with breast cancer.

After losing the weight she had excess skin under her arms which she did not feel comfortable showing when going to a summer gathering. However, necessity is the mother of invention; and, Pauline, finding nothing out there in the market place, decided to design her own brand. Her designs help women cover those parts of their bodies which have changed due to age or illness.

You must give great credit to a woman who sees a need and then tries to fill it, which Pauline has done so brilliantly.

I was so fortunate that Pauline found me when she was Googling Fashion Over Fifty. We started out having lunch, and have since become close friends. I am her great admirer because she is truly devoted to making women feel better about themselves by designing such flattering designs.

This week we met at a local restaurant, Delmonico’s, in Encino, and had a lovely dinner. We both chose healthy eating and had the seafood salad, which was delicious.

After dinner, I tried on the Peek-a-Boo Top and was so excited to see how lovely it looked on me if I do say so myself. Personally, I refuse to give up feeling sexy, so the first thing I love most about this top is the peek-a-boo sleeves. What a great idea. The geometric cutouts add that special allure that most plain blouses lack. Though I do like to feel sexy, I have a large bust, and being petite; I don’t like looking BUSTY!!

This top is great in that it is A-line, but it does not accentuate my bust and does not make me feel like I am wearing maternity clothing either. It is a great top to dress up or down, and as you can see, it looks fabulous with my dark gray jeans. Pauline says it’s all in the flow of the fabric.

She chooses her fabrics here in the US and they are all made here in Los Angeles. Shop this top here

The fabric is MicroModal and is as close to natural as you are going to get. It feels so great against the skin; it is soft, comfortable and covers your challenged areas, which for me is my tummy. It’s the perfect length that covers the tummy but still shows off your legs. All in all, it gets a great review from me, and for the mature woman Over Fifty, I think it’s a stylish and dressy alternative to daytime or evening wear. Send me a photo if you decide to buy one and I will try and post you on my Facebook page where I have over 230,000 followers!!
